A Wonderful Post...

via The Decorista

...on the impact of curtains!

If you have ever stepped in my home you will know that I love oversized dupioni silk curtains in a solid color (mine are from The Curtain Exchange here in Nashville)...and all are in a fabulous solid mint julep color!

I actually now have them in 3 rooms...and they pop so nicely off of our white walls!  Great investment...they add so much!

...I actually picked up one pair of the Curtain Exchange Mint Julep silk curtains at a consignment store on Sidco Drive (next to The Fabric House) here in Nashville...never used...and more than 1/2 off!

A few new things!

Loved this Burnt Orange Ginger Jar...I found in C-ville!

While I was in Charlottesville...I bought a few small items-- so yesterday, I went to view the booths and put things back together after the long weekend...and add a few things!

As you can see...I really like this burnt orange color...it really goes with so many colors!

Love how these colors play off each other too!

Lots of new small items on the table...

Vintage Red Asian Tray!

...love these candleholders and the unique bud vases below!

....found him in Charlottesville...I have a West Highland Terrier and can never pass these kinds of things up (I bought this piece for me)...he is actually the size of my 14 lb Westie named Tuffy.

Even though, this one is quite angry looking...he looks like Tuffy...when Tuff really really needs a walk!!

...just a side view at Gas Lamp!

Take care,

Caroline

Sold: 4 Oyster Shell Votive Holders

....these 2 oyster shell votive holders sold at Gas Lamp Antiques today...I loved these votive holders when I saw them at market in July...so unique!

...and the 2 oyster shell votive holders at Franklin sold too this week!

Loved these!

...I found these today in a cute little store in Charlottesville...they are called Gurgle Pots...and are water pitchers in a koi form that "gurgle" (...a fish gurgle sound...not a human gurgling mouth wash sound) when water is poured from them...

...I can totally see these being used as a vase for flowers too...

....and in such fun colors!!

I bought one to see if I like it...

Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!

...so some of those vintage Reader's Digest Condensed books just flew out of the Gas Lamp booth earlier this week...so here are some pics of a few more at the Franklin Antique Mall.

I am in my hometown of Charlottesville, VA this week/weekend to visit my family.  Tuffy and I (without husband) made the 9 hour drive and wow was that tiring!

Vintage Rattan Arm Chair- professionally painted white and re-upholstered in a colorful grassy green 100% jute fabric

Tuffy had a blast during the car ride and I wish I had taken a picture of him lying upside down half in and half out of his "plenty big enough" dog bed...he can be such a cutie!

Happy Wednesday!
