...we are going to use a lot of spacious archways to separate rooms/hallways and such in our house plans....
I love the open concept floor plans, but at the same time we want traditional living rooms, dining rooms and so forth...

I love the open concept floor plans, but at the same time we want traditional living rooms, dining rooms and so forth...
...so we are going to use archways to create an open feel...even though...we will have designated rooms.
...another neat feature (as I have posted about before) is that when you walk through our front door you will see to the back (as in the pic above) and in the one below...
but on either side of the house (to your left and right) your eye will be guided to a picture window on both ends of the house...
...to the left will be the dining room and to the right will be the living room...I just love the idea of seeing light gleaming through a window from either side of the house when you walk through the front door...at least during the day!

I would LOVE that turquoise chair!
I love archways too - we have quite a few in the house we are building.
Like you, I love it when you can see from the front of the house to the back!
I love archways, too. Sadly, none in this house. But, I love that you'll have them. Safe travels to Atlanta!!!!

It's going to be gorgeous with all of the planning you are putting into it! Rounded archways always look so elegant and inviting! xx Danielle
