Wednesday...

My mother and I spent time yesterday in the little store...we hung the bamboo chairs on the wall and added the sunny yellow pillows to them!

...re-arranged some of the vintage side tables!

...added a set of these vintage chairs (total of 6) that have been professionally painted and upholstered!

My mother and I are on our way to Atlanta today for the July Home Decor Market...such a fun bi-annual mother-daugther event for us!

Can't wait to see what we find...

Just bought...

This vintage wicker bird....so cute!

...and side table!  They will look great once painted...

My mother and I will be at Gas Lamp today adding a few things and re-arranging the little store after the bamboo dresser sold yesterday.

Our trip to Lowes...

Welcome to Lowes!

We had to re-stock some items for the painters working on our new home...so we (Tuffy included) went on a trip to Lowes on Sunday...

Tuffy kept a close eye on Robert...

...and attempted to jump out many times...without success:)

...also thank you for all of your sweet comments yesterday on our new home!  As someone asked, it was built around 1925 so it has  a lot of charm and needs a little TLC...I think those things go hand in hand:)  Can't wait to share more!

Finally...pics of the new home!

Above is the entrance...to the right is the dining room, to the left is the living room and straight back goes out to the back yard!

Love this little area and it has a unique domed ceiling...can you see the little cottage in the back?

Here is a better picture of the cottage...the prior owner was trying some different paint colors on it...that is why it is a bit multi-colored!  We will be painting it the same color we choose for the main house.

Above is the living room...as seen from the front entrance/foyer.

Just another picture of the living room...this time from the back of the living room...there are two small sunrooms at the front of the home...one is accessed from the living room.

...and the other is accessed from the dining room.  We are thinking about making the living room sunroom into a nice sunny office and the one off the dining room into a piano room...

So the kitchen is a bit of a mess with some maintenance things we are taking care of...but otherwise you can get the idea.  We are leaving it as is...but will be changing the color of the walls (making them a bit lighter in color)...and hopefully adding the below simple marble backsplash.

Currently, there is a black laminate backsplash...

There is a cute little mudroom to the side of the kitchen-- a perfect sink to wash our little Westie in!

Well...that is it for now!  

The painting starts today-- can't wait to see it all cleaned up and painted!

A quick shopping trip in Nashville!

at Nashville Pickers on Sidco Drive

Yesterday, I had fun just stopping by a few of the consignment/vintage stores I like so much here in Nashville!  And I snapped a few pictures along the way...

...like this vintage wicker elephant stand I mentioned before at Nashville Pickers off of Sidco Drive...around $45.00...

I am not sure about the piece of art above...but it did catch my eye at Nashville Pickers!

Oh, this mirror at Consign 2 Design (also on Sidco Drive)...I was so tempted...it is a good size and looks much better than this picture- at $75.00...not a bad price!

...and an even better price was this vintage french-style side table at the Salvation Army on Charlotte...$19.00!

...I believe the above mid-century mod dresser had already sold...but the below end table had not...

...the price was a bit higher...maybe around $55.00...but I am having a hard time remembering...

Lastly, these cute owls at $9.99/each (at the Salvation Army on Charlotte)...they are not small...but a nice medium size...just paint them white and how cute would they be!

  I am hoping to remember to take some pictures of the new home today when it is light outside (it is always night-time before I remember to take any pictures:)...the painters start tomorrow- so I better get some "before" pictures soon!

Happy 4th of July!

...some blue for the 4th of July!

This Saturday is Gas Lamp's 4th of July celebration...and I have put everything over $25.00 at 15% off for the day!

...you can see the new mirror in the reflection...which is below too...

...it is $145.00 and another one is coming in this upcoming week...I think they would look great alone, but as a pair...that would be quite nice!

...lots of picture frames from $12.00- $17.50!

...and I just received 2 more of these tall round metal tables...$85.00/each.  There is a great pillow selection from $65.00- $75.00/each!

Oh, and the above vintage lamps are not mine...but I loved them!!  They are located in the front co-op booth space at Gas Lamp and are $185.00 for the pair...love them!

I have several flower shaped glass votive holders like the yellow one above at $8.00/each...and vintage Readers Digest books for $4.00/book...
