Mirrors for next year...

It is that time of year again...to start researching items for market in January...mirrors are always a great addition to a room...especially reflecting light from a window...

...or as above...in a kitchen...sort of being used as a backsplash...never saw that before!

Thinking about...

Southern Living via Matters of Style

...thinking about doing something like this in the back of the living room...we need a casual eating area that can also double as a secondary seating area in the living room. 

We have a bamboo settee and lots of bentwood side chairs already that will work nicely...I may go with a skirted table instead of a tulip table...like this burlap one...but in the ivory burlap (love the fringe)...we will see!

...also...this image below from Southern Living (not so much my colors in the room)...but love the idea of having identical striped rugs on either side of the room.

We have a large Persian in the living room that is big enough for the center seating area (and I love it)...but would really like to have a longer rug that reaches each end of the living room better...to soften the room a bit...

Surya Frontier in Taupe/Ivory

I was thinking about finding a really large sisal area rug and layering the Persian on top of it...but may just add a two of these 5'x8' taupe & white striped rugs on either end of the Persian... 

...rugs must be on my mind this week...

...most likely because the rug installers are in our home right now ripping out the old stair runner and later this week will be putting in the new sisal stair runner...

Rope and tassel find...

...stumbled across these possibly 1960's vintage Italian gilt rope and tassel pieces at one of my favorite thrift stores outside of Nashville...the side table above...

...and the bar cart below...

I bought them immediately...but due to the 2 wingback chairs in my car already...that are going to be re-upholstered for the dining room...I have to go back and pick these guys up sometime this weekend!

Hey Nashville: This weekend's estate sales...

To be honest...I have not been that inspired by some of the estate sales this weekend...but you never know!  

I do love the shape of the vintage sofa above....it is at an estate sale being put on by Patterson Estate and Moving sales...they have several chairs that would look great re-upholstered...

Now, onto an estate sale in West Meade...

Lastly, this one is a little outside of Nashville...but Bernice Denton Estate Sales has a seemingly good one in Gallatin...

...what  a neat pattern on this wingback...and...

...some great vintage prints in faux bamboo frames...

Wow...

...so I saw this on Blue Hydrangea last week...and shortly thereafter went out and grabbed the December Southern Living issue...because I don't have a Southern Living subscription anymore...

...love the wallpaper and colors in this dining room...and the whole December issue was really nice!

The above images with the Sigourney wallpaper in gray/white by Quadrille...make me want to find a place to use it in my own home!

Caught my eye...

...the estate sales this week here in Nashville  really did not catch my eye so I am passing on my usual Thursday estate sale post this week.

...but this image above of Jill Sharp Brinson's home in the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine caught my eye!

...also filling up those lanterns with some ornaments...great idea!
