Love some green...

This "pop" of green really caught my eye-- just love this specific green...very fresh, cheerful and sophisticated! May have to pull out some high gloss green paint soon!

Happy Wednesday!

Fresh Flowers!

...I love having fresh flowers in my house...I absolutely do not have a green thumb so keeping any type of flowers alive in the yard is very hard for me! I do try my best, but I keep what we have in the yard/window boxes well within my abilities to maintain!

So I just love buying fresh flowers for the inside of my home and arranging them...

....This is what I wish it looked like in my kitchen as I am arranging...but I think I am a bit messier!

...my favorites are tulips and lilies...but I pick up all kinds of flowers in pink or white shades and usually group the flowers in "like" arrangements (such as all pink tulips in a vase together)...I know sounds boring! But I just love it!

I have always adored these images from one of my favorite books "Thrifty Chic" and wanted to share!

Happy Tuesday!

Dogs anyone?

You have to look very closely...
but I found this picture on Coco + Kelley
of Lee Kleihnelter's new home...she is the owner of Pieces, located in Atlanta.

...and was pleasantly surprised to see the white dog statue
in the upper right photo...

...and it reminded me of my recent find that I put in the Franklin Booth!

I think it could make any dog-lovers interior decor just perfect!!

Of course, I could not help myself...and so I added a touch of color with the grassy green bow:)...and "he" could be dressed up for Halloween, Christmas, Easter...

Happy Monday!

Puppies & Hydrangeas

....so Tuffy is not a puppy anymore (actually he is about to turn 4 years old...hard to believe)!

....but whenever he comes back from his "primping" at My Second Home...
he is so white, cute and tiny-- he resembles a puppy!

I have had this idea in my head to put hydrangeas in a big vintage wicker basket

and

place it in my living room fireplace....

When I was in NYC last year...
I saw these outside a store on Bleecker Street,
which gave me the idea....

My interpretation....

...and Tuffy is just so cute right now-- I could not resist having him in the pic!

Happy Thursday!!

Blue & White...and pink!

So on Saturday I picked up several small blue & white jars and plates-- I am always inspired by Anna Spiro and just love her use of the blue & white ginger jars-- they add such a fun flair to any room-- especially with pink!

I think I am going to part with them (sad!) since the Franklin Booth needs a lot of new items in it (it is sort of bare right now and I am planning on running by there today)....booth pictures to come soon!

....my try at using them in my living room:)

Happy Monday!

Oh so charming!

...saw this very charming vintage (c. 1954) home in the April Traditional Home and just loved it!!

The house is located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta--

and I just love the green shutters and green door!

I am from Charlottesville, Virginia originally...
now living in Nashville- which is an absolutely wonderful city...
but the red brick and historical feeling of this home
is what I love and reminds me of Virginia!!

I currently do live live in a
1950's red brick "bungalow/ranch" (as I like to call it:)....
and wonder if we could make ours look like the above...
oh....I can dream!!

Take care,

Caroline
